About Julie

Hi, I’m the Motor City Girl. Thanks for visiting my blog!

I’m a twenty-something newlywed living in the Pittsburgh area. I grew up in the suburbs of Detroit and haven’t really lived anywhere else in my life. Now I’m the supportive wife of a medical school student and an adventurous young adult in an unfamiliar place.

I strive to lead a healthy, vegetarian lifestyle (while feeding my meat-eating husband) and want to share what I have learned along the way. I also aim to do something unique and fun each day, whether it’s trying a new restaurant or recipe, picking up a new hobby, reading a good book, or traveling the world.

Join me on this journey of health, happiness, and wedded bliss. I’m just trying to figure it all out…no biggie.

    Dear Julie

Found this by accident. Not sure how I got here. Where in Pittsburgh are you living. I thought you & Eric were living in Erie where he was going to going to school. Have you been to the strip. Ingrid lived in Lawrenceville which is down Butler Street. Pictures are beautiful and will try and find my way back probably thru facebook or whatever we use. I don’t check it very often. I was looking at something from my AF Days. Love to you and Eric.

Just found your website. I’m a Pittsburgh transplant as well and have a shifting relationship with meat. I’m excited to start reading along with your journey!

Hi, just came across your blog when looking for other Pittsburgh blogs. I’m an Ohio guy living in Pittsburgh, so that is the focus of my new blog.
I just got started with mine, but I’ve enjoyed reading through some of your posts. Keep it up.

Welcome to my blog! Sorry it hasn’t been updated as regularly, with being in grad school taking most of my time. Good luck with your blog!

I’m so excited I just stumbled upon your blog. I just applied for Chatham’s Food Studies program. Hopefully I get accepted, because the program seems so amazing to me! I’m excited to keep reading about your experiences in the program and in Pittsburgh!

Thanks for the comment! Good luck with your application. If you ever want any pointers about the program (or need books in the future), I’m available to chat! unless it’s around finals time…then forget it πŸ™‚
